Susan is the parent of a boy with autism and his twin sisters. After a career in publishing (during which time she was a contributing author for Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution) and in Business Development (Netscape, Adobe Systems) she adopted an entirely new career as an advocate for children and a voice for the special needs community. She is the founder and Director of "Peninsula Parents of Special Needs Kids," a group of one thousand members that helps parents network in Northern California and provides unique recreational opportunities for families.

Susan is also the author of "Discovering Family Fun with Autism" forthcoming from Sourcebooks (http://www.sourcebooks.com/). It will be published in November 2010.
