Back for More - 2010 SEAPaddle NYC!

The cheering from the boats outside of North Cove Marina let me know that the end was near. A few minutes later, I stood for the first time in 7 or so hours on something other than a stand up paddle board. I had done it! The dock was the end of my 28 mile journey around Manhattan - I was stoked, tired and proud to have completed the paddle.
In 2008 at the SEA Paddle NYC event, the crew battled 20 Mph headwinds for the final12 miles on the Hudson River, after already having paddled 16 miles! So I was grateful of our epic conditions in September 2009 when I circled Manhattan with 100 or so others.
Hats off to Andrew Mencinsky, Richard Lee and all the others at Surfers Environmental Alliance (SEA) who did an amazing job of putting on the event. The 2009 SEAPaddle NYC raised close to $250K - each of those paddle strokes going to support children with special needs and the coastal environment.
Best Day is just one of the lucky beneficiaries that SEA supports.
Learn more about the 2010 event - which is taking place in NYC on August 13th. While you're encouraged to, you don't have to paddle! There are several parties after the event including great music, food, a silent auction, and more. There are also great opportunities for corporate sponsorship with major tv and media exposure.
