Best Day in the Snow

If you haven't already signed up to volunteer for or have your child with special needs participate in one of these fun-filled adventures, please do so now!

Please view and print the following information to get the most out of your  Best Day snow camp experience:

• Be prepared for a safe, fun-filled day in the snow with activities including: a snow obstacle course, snow man building, stretching, snow tubing, sledding, and an awards ceremony where every child participant gets a medal and a goodie bag! Rumor has it that we might also have a live Coast Guard helicopter fly by!
• Please show up on time and on the day you've been registered for! 8:30am for volunteers. 10am for participants and their families. Each snow camp is one half-day experience and should be finished by 2:30pm.         
• Make sure to bring a signed participant waiveror volunteer waiver.         
• Make sure to bring warm clothing suitable for snow-based activities including a coat, hat, and gloves or mittens. Snow suits are great if you have them!         
• Water, hot chocolate, snacks and a hot lunch are provided for all volunteers and participants. Due to the unknown variability in family size, we are unable to provide snacks or lunch for the participant families. Please make sure to plan accordingly. We are having pizza, hotdogs, and hamburgers, so if your child is allergic to wheat, gluten or dairy, you'll also need to make other arrangements.   *** Please note that Thunder Ridge has offered to provide lunch to all participants, volunteers and their families on the March 6th and 7th events! Thank you Thunder Ridge! ***      
• Our Best Day in the Snow events in New Jersey are held at Thunder Ridge Ski Area, located in the rolling hills of Patterson, New York, just 20 minutes from Danbury, CT, 35 minutes from White Plains and only 75 minutes from New York City! Get directions to the resort. Or learn of places to stay.
• Please note that no other mountain services, such as lift tickets or ski rentals, are part of the Best Day in the Snow event. Best Day is totally separate from Thunder Ridge, our gracious host and generous sponsor.
