I helped a group of children with special needs go surf with Best Day Foundation last summer. It was an amazing experience! I was inspired by so many incredible kids who I'd never thought could surf. They were so brave and even blew away their parents. The kids had so much fun we had to drag them out of the water for lunch! I was touched in particular by one child named Billy - when he left, he hugged me, and his mom said she hoped I'd be there next time.

Best Day's half-day events are free for everyone. They're expanding to hold more events. I wanted to help out since Billy had so much fun and was so proud to be a surfer. And it was one of the neatest things I've ever done.
